Ah Hartmut,
I learnt German and French at high school and only remember a little of both languages but I do have good intentions to upgrade my vocabulary with them. My language books have been sitting on the table for some months now unopened (Andrew would have seen them when he visited me recently) and I’m taking this as a sign it’s time to do so. Let it be my New Year resolution!

I really like singing both those songs in German because of how the words flow in that language for them. Plus they were first written and sung in it so it’s good to honour that tradition.

And speaking of New Year, I will also add Frohes Neues Jahr to one and all!
