Adam Cohen in conversation with Rick Rubin

This is a 46 minute podcast from 2019, which I was unaware of until my son shared it with me. I couldn't find it posted anywhere here, but hope I’m not inadvertently doubling up on a previous topic/post.

Anyway, it’s a very interesting and revealing conversation between Adam Cohen and Rick Rubin. It’s one that references the last two albums, but more than that, it’s one which is a personal and intimate glimpse into Adam’s relationship with his father, which demonstrates his great admiration and respect for Leonard as an artist, not just as a father, including comment about their artistic collaboration. 8)

Dar, I’m glad you enjoyed it so too. :) Adam is very considered and insightful about his father (which one would hope to be the case). 8)

Hi Alan, I’m glad you also really enjoyed listening to this.

Re Tim, it’s quite unusual for him to find something Leonard related that I don't know about, but greatly appreciate that he thinks of his father’s interests in this way. ;-)

Cheers,
Andrew :)

I am also a late comer in listening to this. Thank you for posting it. I normally don't listen to podcasts with much attention, but this one I did.

I’m so glad you all enjoyed it too.

I decided to listen to it for a second time tonight and enjoyed it even more so, partly because I was more focused on trying to comprehend it fully.

So, not only was I struck by how much we benefit from Adam’s privileged knowledge of his father, but also by how helpful it was to have Adam bounce stuff off Rick in that conversation, along with Adam beautifully and articulately describing very nuanced stuff on the creative process and the product of this, alluding to philosophical positions manifest by his father (such as perceptions about failure and brokenness). 8)

Cheers,
Andrew :)

Apart from Adam, there seems to be some good stuff on that "Broken Record Pushkin" podcast channel, eg Joan Baez, Robbie Robertson, Amanda Shires etc. Thanks OP for posting.

Thank you, Andrew-that was excellent.

Adam was extremely articulate and well spoken. In that sense, he reminded me of his Dad.
