Tracking down an interview/profile

Post by mkd1977 »

Hi folks, I'm hoping someone might be able to help me track down an interview (or profile piece) I read many years ago.

In it, Leonard invited the journalist to visit his archive, and said something along the lines of "I always felt that the archive was the work. The books and records are artefacts, but the archive in its totality IS THE WORK."

Another way of thinking about it would be that the books and records are the waves, but the archive is the sea.

Does this ring a bell with anyone? I image it was published sometime between 2000 and 2010. Many thanks!
