I've been performing Cohen since 1967. I fell immediately in love with his work.
In 1973 I moved to Australia and have been performing continuously as a semi-professional.
I became inspired by LC's Live in London concert and the subsequent double CD. My increased passion for Cohen was re-ignited.
I have been producing and performing Leonard Cohen biographical cabarets (tributes) since 2021.
The cabarets have received excellent reviews here in Qld.
In Sept/Oct 2024 I'm taking the current cabaret show, LEONARD COHEN: His Life, Ladies and Lovers, to Armidale and Sydney, NSW.

Noosa singer and musician Jonathan Anstock aka Leonard Cohen has long been fascinated by Cohen and for the last four years he has been doing something about it, being acclaimed by audiences not only locally but in Brisbane and throughout Queensland by presenting shows featuring aspects of the artist’s life.

In 2024 he re-wrote an all-new cabaret show, “Leonard Cohen, His Life, Ladies and Lovers” and later this month he will bring the show to The Majestic Theatre in Pomona.

Says Jonathan: “I think with this new show I make a greater focus on Cohen’s life. I will be performing classics like “Hallelujah,” “So Long Marianne,” “Suzanne” and more.
