Back singers & Bass player from Leonard's early days. I've been in touch with them and invited them to the gathering in Hamburg. Here is Aileen's reply,

Great to hear from you, Joseph. Happy to hear that there’s at least one more Cohen gathering in the works. Elkin is in failing health and unable to travel, so it’s not an option for us. We seem to be the last two soldiers standing from Leonard’s Army. We treasure the memories we have of those exciting times.

We, too, miss our dear friend, Bill. I’m happy to hear that Anne is making a good recovery. You two take good care of each other. Thanks for staying in touch. Enjoy your travels and give our warmest regards to Leonard’s people.

Cheers,
Aileen

Here is a YouTube of them performing.

Thank you, Ute, hopefully we'll see you in Den Bosche or when we visit Katie & family in Aachen this summer.

I am reminded of the first time I saw LC at the Field House in Madison in 1970. I'm sure that Aileen & Elkin were in the band then. I know that I've mentioned it before, but Anne was at the concert as well. We wouldn't meet for two more years, but it is still incredible to think that the first time Anne & I were in a room together, Leonard was there as well.

All these years later and we have such great friends from the Cohen community. It is truly a miracle and a blessing.

That's a great song, so apropos, and I love the whistling. Thanks for posting it, Joe.
