Federico Garcia Lorca (plus biographical film)
Keith James and Rick Foot.
From the breathtaking duo that brought us The Songs of Nick Drake.
Federico Garcia Lorca, murdered during the Spanish Civil war, is the most beloved and influential of all modern Poets. Passionate, urgent, haunting and evocative, this concert of Lorca's poetry translated and set to music, also features material by LEONARD COHEN, Joni Mitchell, Tim Buckley and Nick Drake.
It's on this Saturday 24th November 8pm in St Albans, Herts.

Unfortunately we can't make it - would like to hear from anyone who does!
Federico Garcia Lorca music/poetry at the Maltings St Albans
Re: Federico Garcia Lorca music/poetry at the Maltings St Albans
We went to see this show at The Junction in Cambridge. Admittedly, one half of the duo was missing, due to illness, but it was not a good concert. It was all rather slow. There were a number of cds on sale, which looked interesting, but afterwards we decided not to spend our money. (Sorry, Jarkko, you missed out on a possible cd!). The version of Take This Waltz has been done much better by a lot of amateur songsters at Cohen events over the years. We were hugely disappointed.

whereas I saw the duo at The Lowry in Salford and found it a thoroughly entertaining evening. I was interested enough to book for their Nick Drake songs tour as well.
